Last summer we took a road trip of 4000 miles around Morocco following the route used by drug smugglers in the 1970’s and photographing journey as we went. We headed out from Taghazout, up to Marakkech, into the mountains to Chefchouen and Ketama, then down to Fez, and into the Sahara to Ouarzazet, M’hamid and beyond to the Algerian boarder.
The aim of the project was to document some of the farms and farmers in the north of Morocco and the adventure along the road in and out of the mountains where the hashish and opium is produced.
